How we choose LiveTubes – our selection process

At LiveTube, we value the contributions of our users in providing live broadcasts of newsworthy events. Our commitment to delivering quality, reliable, and timely news to our audience guides our selection process. This article provides insight into how we select LiveTubes for broadcasting and the common reasons a LiveTube might not be chosen.

The Role of an Eyewitness Reporter and Newsworthy Content

Before diving into our selection process, it’s crucial to understand the role of an eyewitness reporter and what constitutes newsworthy content. An eyewitness reporter is not just a bystander but an individual who captures unfolding events and shares them in real-time. They don’t create the news but report on what’s happening around them.

Newsworthy events are occurrences that are out of the ordinary, consequential, and of interest to the public. They may involve breaking news, ongoing events, or even local stories with a potential for broader implications.

However, not every local event qualifies as a global story. We are an international broadcasting platform, and our primary focus is on stories that resonate with audiences worldwide. The news cycle is dynamic and constantly evolving, influenced by many factors, including timeliness, significance, and public interest. Sometimes, an event that wouldn’t ordinarily make headlines becomes a significant story due to its context or connection to other recent events.

The LiveTube Verification Process

When you send a livestream to LiveTube, it first goes through an initial assessment by our advanced AI system. This system performs various checks, including processing the image and video you sent, the description and category you provided, and your real-time location. Depending on these checks, the system either declines your stream or forwards it to one of our live producers in the newsroom.

LiveTube: A Focus on Live News Broadcasting

LiveTube is different from platforms like YouTube, TikTok, or Youku. Our primary focus is on real-time reporting of events unfolding across the globe. We’re a live news broadcasting platform, and we prioritize content that is happening NOW and is of immediate interest to a global audience.

This distinction is why content involving an individual performing or creating scenarios in front of the camera, gaming, preaching, or personal opinion pieces is not suitable for LiveTube. These forms of content, while they have their space in online sharing platforms, do not align with LiveTube’s vision of being a trusted source for live news. For sharing such personal or opinion-based content, platforms like YouTube or TikTok are more appropriate.

Remember, news reporting is about bringing the news to the viewer, not the reporter. It’s not about the person capturing the event but about the event itself. As LiveTubers, you are the eyes and ears on the ground, delivering the story as it happens. It’s live, it’s raw, and it’s real.

Now that we have a better understanding of what we’re looking for let’s delve into our selection process.

Adherence to LiveTube Rules

A primary factor that influences our selection process is adherence to our LiveTube Rules. We encourage all our users to familiarize themselves with these rules. Content that violates our rules, or involves activities such as self-promotion, religious preaching, personal opinions, or gaming, does not align with our focus on broadcasting news events. LiveTube is a global news broadcasting platform, not a platform for self-promotion or personal content.

It’s important to mention that we also receive inappropriate content such as explicit or adult material. We approach this matter with utmost seriousness. Content of this nature is not only against our rules but could also lead to account suspension and potential legal consequences.

Clarity and Relevance of Your Story

We want to tell stories that matter, stories that have news value on a broader scale. The description you provide for your LiveTube is essential for our producers to understand the context and relevance of your content. For tips on what makes a LiveTube stand out, visit our guide.

Ensuring Safety and Validity

We are deeply committed to the safety of our users and those featured in their LiveTubes. If we’re concerned about anyone’s safety or if a LiveTube interferes with emergency services, we will not select it for broadcast. Additionally, we must be able to validate the events captured in your LiveTube. The credibility of our platform hinges on the authenticity of the content we broadcast.

Technical Quality of the LiveTube

The technical quality of your LiveTube can also impact our decision. Some common technical issues that can affect selection include:

  • Picture is too dark
  • Signal is not strong enough
  • Sound quality is poor
  • Visibility issues

For guidance on how to improve the technical quality of your LiveTube, consult our Tips for LiveTubers.

Our Discretion as a News Broadcaster

As a news broadcaster, we receive a vast number of LiveTubes daily and, while we value every submission, we can’t broadcast them all. Our selection process, guided by our internal guidelines and the public interest, helps us choose the most relevant content for our audience. There is no inherent right for any LiveTube to be broadcasted. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to continue capturing and submitting LiveTubes of newsworthy events happening around you.

We hope this article helps you understand our selection process better. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please check our FAQs or Create a Support Ticket.

Remember, by contributing to LiveTube, you’re not just a user, you’re part of a global community helping to inform the world.

A Closer Look at the LiveTube Verification Process

When you send a livestream to LiveTube, it first goes through an initial assessment by our advanced AI system. This system performs various checks, including processing the image and video you sent, the description and category you provided, and your real-time location. Depending on these checks, the system either declines your stream or forwards it to one of our live producers in the newsroom.

Once connected with our live producer, they can see and hear everything you are sending. They may communicate with you through text messages. While you should focus on filming, you are encouraged to verbally respond to the producer’s inquiries. Depending on the situation, the producer might involve other journalists to help make the final decision – to broadcast or not to broadcast your livestream.

It’s important to note that even at this stage, your livestream could still be declined by the producer. However, if your livestream is accepted, you’ll notice a red border added to your screen along with a money counter and the duration of the livestream. The producer stays connected with you throughout the broadcast and will end it when they believe the story has reached a natural conclusion.
