The whereabouts of Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and President Win Myint remain a mystery, days after the military said they had been moved out of their prison cells. The official reason was to help them cope with the extreme heat wave and due to their old age. Days later though, some sources say Suu Kyi is still in prison and not under house arrest.

World powers have called for restraint after Iranian media reported explosions in the city of Isfahan. America's top diplomat refused to comment on the attack, which other US officials have reportedly pinned on Israel. Tel Aviv has yet to take any accountability, while Tehran downplayed the purported attack. CNA spoke to Simon Mabon, Professor of International Politics at Lancaster University, for his take on these latest developments.

Iran has reportedly signalled it has no plans for immediate retaliation after what several sources suggest was an Israeli attack on its territory, in the latest apparent tit-for-tat exchange. The world's largest election is underway. Nearly a billion people in India will cast their votes in a poll that will last more than six weeks. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seeking a historic third term, and is campaigning for more growth, welfare and Hindu nationalism. The largest of the seven phases of voting began on Apr 19. One hundred and sixty-six million voters across 21 states and territories will cast their ballots, including Tamil Nadu in the south. Rebecca Bundhun reports.

A panel of global maritime leaders has said that Singapore can remain a leading hub by being a conduit for new trade flows as they shift to emerging regions. It added that Singapore can also become a trusted location to develop and install critical technologies, especially those on board ships. Led by the Transport Minister, the panel includes ship societies, banks and major technology providers. Charlotte Lim reports.
