Singapore's Changi Airport has marked its first full quarter surpassing pre-pandemic figures. 16.5 million passengers travelled through the air hub in 1Q2024 -- a 0.5% increase on-year compared to 2019. The airport handled more than five million travellers each month. Changi Airport Group said the strong traffic was boosted partly by Singapore hosting many music concerts. China became Changi's top market again, rising from sixth place last year. Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat said Changi Airport is working toward its goal for full-year passenger traffic to exceed pre-COVID levels.

More kidney patients in Singapore can soon opt for overnight treatment. The National Kidney Foundation is expanding its capacity of handling such dialysis. Each night session is between six and seven hours, compared to the four hours for daytime treatments. The overnight dialysis helps remove toxins and fluid more gently, reducing strain on the heart. Currently, NKF's two centres at Hougang and Clementi can accommodate 36 patients each week. By 2027, this will expand to 250 slots across five centres in different regional zones.
