US President Donald Trump says Israel and Iran have both violated a ceasefire - hours after it came into effect. Israel has accused Iran of firing missiles towards the country - which Iran's military chief denies. Trump has warned Israel against retaliatory attacks, saying it would violate the agreement. In the past hour, he's spoken by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. US media are reporting that Netanyahu told Trump he cannot cancel an attack on Iran. Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has reiterated Qatar’s condemnation of Iran’s missile attack on Al Udeid airbase last night. Addressing the media in Doha alongside visiting Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, Sheikh Mohammed said, “The attack on the state of Qatar is an unacceptable act, especially as Qatar has been making great diplomatic efforts in order to de-escalate the situation.” Doha was “taken by surprise” by the move from what it considers a friendly neighbour. He praised the Qatari armed forces for “fending off the attack”, saying they shot down all the Iranian-deployed missiles except one.
