Video: ‘Out Of Rural Areas Into The Urban Areas’: Lankford Probes Experts On Dwindling Rural Healthcare

The Kosovar government has released drone video showing a group of gunmen at the Serbian Orthodox monastery in Kosovo on Sunday. Around 30 masked men in combat uniforms fled to the monastery after opening fire on a police patrol near the village of Banjska in the early hours of Sunday morning, killing one officer and injuring another. They broke down the gates with an armored personnel carrier before barricading themselves in with priests and visiting pilgrims. The drone footage shows the gunmen walking on footpaths through mountainous terrain as well as inside the monastery walls before fleeing into surrounding vegetation. It is not clear who the gunmen are or who is supporting them. Pristina accuses Belgrade of backing the “terrorists,” an accusation Serbia denies, saying they are Serbs from Kosovo protesting the government there. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said in his nightly address on Sunday (September 24) the United States had agreed to jointly produce weapons with Ukraine, in a move he called "an absolute fantasy until recently." Zelenskiy, newly returned from a visit to the United States and Canada, added the pact included air defence systems, crucial for Ukraine to defend itself from Russia's air attacks. He also praised Ukrainian forces for successes in both areas of a three-month-old counteroffensive, but gave no indication any new movement forward. His comments came as Russian forces shelled southern Ukraine's Kherson region on Sunday, killing two people and injuring at least eight, the regional governor said. Kherson governor Oleksandr Prodkudin, writing on the Telegram messaging app, said shelling from the Russian-held eastern bank of the Dnipro River had hit private homes in Beryslav, on the Ukrainian-held west bank. A man was killed in the nearby village of Lvove. An air strike on Kherson, the region's main town, injured at least five people and caused considerable damage to buildings.
