A spokesperson for Europa-Park announced around 7 PM via Twitter that all visitors can return to their hotels. He also assured that the park would reopen tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Offenburg Police Headquarters has stated that the cause of the major fire remains unclear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the police, the fire broke out around 4:40 PM. As per SWR information, visitors were asked to leave the park, but it was not an evacuation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UPDATE: June 19, 2023, 17:41 CET<\/strong> – The fire has broken out in the “Spanish Village” area of the Europa-Park Rust in Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg, as confirmed by the Offenburg Police Department. Firefighters are currently on the scene attempting to extinguish the blaze. Images and videos on the internet depict a large black column of smoke that can be seen from a considerable distance. No further details regarding the cause of the fire or any possible injuries have been provided by the police at this time. It’s worth noting that this is not the first major fire at the amusement park. In May 2018, the “Pirates in Batavia” ride in the Dutch area of the park was destroyed by a fire, which was likely caused by a technical defect\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n
