Witnesses at the scene suggest that the shooting took place outside Nick’s Bar & Grill at around 7pm ET. A chilling tweet from an eyewitness expressed shock and fear, stating, “A SHOOTING ON HOLLYWOOD BEACH JUST HAPPENED IN FRONT OF ME, MULTIPLE PEOPLE SHOT WITH STRAY BULLETS.”
Hollywood Beach Mayor Josh Levy informed WFOR-TV that the immediate response saw victims treated by police and paramedics at the scene, followed by transportation to nearby hospitals. Levy expressed uncertainty about the exact nature of the incident, suggesting that some individuals might have been unintended targets caught in the crossfire. However, he emphasized that this possibility remains unverified at present.
Hollywood Beach, located approximately 11 miles south of Fort Lauderdale and 20 miles north of Miami, is a popular tourist destination, adding to the shock of this violent incident on a day meant for peaceful remembrance. The investigation into this event is ongoing.
The recent Coronation Concert of King Charles III was a star-studded spectacle set against the magnificent backdrop of Windsor Castle. The impressive staging and near-flawless execution by BBC Studios provided a fitting setting for the night’s entertainers, including the pop sensation Katy Perry and the timeless Lionel Richie.

Katy Perry, dressed in an outfit reminiscent of a toffee penny Quality Street, was one of the stars who graced the stage. Perry delighted the crowd with performances of her two biggest hits, adding a touch of pop charm to the royal event.
Lionel Richie proved to be a crowd favourite, especially among the royals. His soulful renditions brought the audience to their feet, encapsulating the celebratory spirit of the event.
Despite the enthusiastic response from the live audience, reactions were decidedly mixed among TV viewers. Lionel Richie, the legendary Motown icon, found his performance the subject of intense debate. The singer’s renditions of his classic hits ‘Easy’ and ‘All Night Long’ left some fans feeling underwhelmed, with comparisons being drawn to a “karaoke in the pub” experience. Some even made jesting comparisons of Richie’s singing to that of Kermit the Frog.

“Was that the cat or Lionel Richie?”
Richie, whose illustrious career spans decades and includes a tenure as the lead singer of Motown group the Commodores, seemed to hit a sour note with a segment of viewers. Disappointed fans took to social media, expressing their regret for tuning in and sharing their reluctance to purchase tickets for future concerts. One fan went as far as to contemplate canceling tickets to see the singer after watching his performance at the Windsor Castle show.
However, the narrative was not entirely negative. A number of fans came to Richie’s defense, asserting that it’s unreasonable to expect the singer’s voice to remain unchanged after 40 years. They praised the R&B star for his dedication to live performance, opting to sing live rather than resorting to lip-syncing.

Prince William delivered a powerful speech that won applause from the audience, not just for his tribute to his father, King Charles, but also for his remarks on ‘service’. “For all that celebrations are magnificent, at the heart of the pageantry is a simple message – service,” he stated, which was seen by some as a subtle response to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s previous comments on the same topic. He pledged his own commitment to service and ended his speech with a heartfelt tribute to his father that moved many in the audience to tears: “Pa, we are all so proud of you. I commit myself to serve you all. King, Country and Commonwealth. God Save The King!”
Take That ended the night on a high note, delivering their first performance in four years and igniting the crowd with their energy. Notably, Robbie Williams was absent from the group’s lineup. The Royal Family joined in the excitement, clapping along to the hit songs “Greatest Day,” “Shine,” and “Never Forget.” As the concert reached its climax, King Charles and Queen Camilla proudly waved their Union flags, symbolizing a fitting close to the memorable event.
