Protesters gathered outside South Korea’s National Assembly on Friday (6 December) demanding President Yoon Suk Yeol's arrest in the wake of his recent martial law declaration. Inside the National Assembly, opposition lawmakers converged as they chanted “Arrest him”. Yoon shocked the nation and his own ruling People Power Party on Tuesday (December 3) when he gave the military sweeping emergency powers in order to root out what he called "anti-state forces" and overcome obstructionist political opponents.
