The ruling People's Action Party (PAP) has pledged to keep Singapore strong and united in a more dangerous world, warning against populism and racial politics, while promising to deliver on its election mandate. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong says the PAP will continue to speak up when political lines are crossed in order to keep politics in Singapore clean, honest and constructive - even if it comes with political costs to the party. The PAP chief pointed to other countries where societies become divided by political parties taking harmful actions for votes, and said that cannot be allowed to happen in Singapore.
