Researchers from Singapore and around the region are heading into uncharted waters. A 20-member team from the National University of Singapore and US non-profit OceanX are on a 24-day mission to explore a largely unknown part of the Indian Ocean, known as the Monsoon Rise. They will map more than 17,000 square kilometres of terrain to document its biodiversity for the first time. The expedition will be done on one of the world's most advanced research vessels that is equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Findings from the expedition and specimens collected will be shared with the public at the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum. Alexandra Anand reports.
