A new survey says parents play a frontline role in keeping young people away from drugs. Nine in 10 said it was conversations at home that made the difference. The survey by the National Council Against Drug Abuse (NCADA) was released on Sep 30 to mark International Recovery Day. Dr Jimmy Lee, Vice Chairman at NCADA, explains why and how parents can help their children through conversations on drug use.

"The era of politically correct, overly sensitive, 'don't hurt anyone's feelings leadership' ends right now," US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told America's top generals and admirals on Tuesday (Sep 30), slamming the diversity initiatives that he said led to decades of decay in the military.
