Breaking these live broadcast rules can lead to consequences, including temporary account suspensions or permanent bans.

By adhering to these guidelines, we ensure LiveTube remains a trusted source of accurate, timely information. Let’s work together to uphold these standards.
Working Together with the LiveTube Newsroom
LiveTube reporters are an extension of our newsroom and play a vital role in delivering accurate and credible live coverage. To ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of our live reporting, reporters must adhere to the following principles:
- Follow newsroom guidance: Always follow the instructions provided by LiveTube producers during live broadcasts. They are there to assist and ensure the quality of your reporting.
- Avoid unauthorized commentary: Do not conduct interviews or provide spoken commentary unless explicitly requested by the newsroom. Your primary role is to film events as they happen.
- Steer clear of speculation: Avoid interpreting or speculating about events during your livestream. Misinterpretations can lead to the spread of misinformation.
- Provide factual context when asked: If requested by the newsroom, share additional context about what you see or hear beyond the camera’s view. Ensure all input is factual and unbiased.
By collaborating closely with the newsroom, you help uphold LiveTube’s commitment to delivering truthful and reliable live broadcast reporting.
Content Restrictions
To preserve the safety and integrity of the LiveTube platform, the following types of content are strictly prohibited:
- Adult or pornographic content: Explicit sexual content, nudity, or material intended for sexual arousal.
- Violent or harmful content: Content involving physical fights, extreme gore, or any material inciting violence or harm.
- Harassment or intimidation: Content promoting threats, stalking, or sharing private images without consent.
- Hate speech or discrimination: Content targeting individuals or groups based on race, religion, age, veteran status, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, or disability. For example, racial slurs, sexist comments, or promoting hate groups.
- Illegal activities: Content involving hacking, drug use, or the promotion or sale of restricted items such as weapons.
- Exploitation of endangered species: Content involving the sale or promotion of ivory, shark fins, or similar products.
- Deceptive practices: False advertising, scams, or content designed to defraud viewers.
Violations of these content restrictions may lead to your livestream being stopped immediately, along with penalties such as withholding payouts, account suspension, or termination. In cases with legal implications, we may report the incident to the relevant authorities. For guidance on creating high-quality, responsible content, visit our guide: What Makes a Great LiveTube
Prohibited Speech and Extremism
LiveTube does not allow any content or speech that promotes or incites violence, extremism, or illegal activities. This includes but is not limited to:
- Calls for violence against individuals or groups.
- Advocacy or support of terrorism or extremist ideologies.
- Religious or ideological pronouncements inciting harm or discrimination.
- Dissemination of illegal content, including speech that violates local or international laws.
Violations of this policy will result in immediate account suspension, content removal, and potential reporting to the relevant authorities.
Privacy Considerations
Respect for privacy is a cornerstone of LiveTube’s values. All reporters must adhere to the following:
- Avoid broadcasting identifiable individuals without their consent, particularly in sensitive areas like homes or hospitals.
(Filming individuals is generally allowed when they are part of a crowd, a public event, or incidental to the main subject of the footage (e.g., background appearance), provided it does not infringe on their personal rights. To learn more about what is allowed, please visit Tips for LiveTubers) - Do not film or share verbally private details, such as names, phone numbers, or personal documents, without explicit authorization.
- Refrain from filming minors or vulnerable individuals in identifiable ways unless consent from a legal guardian has been obtained.
Emergency Situations
In emergency situations, the safety and well-being of everyone involved must come first. As a LiveTube reporter, you are expected to strictly adhere to the following:
- Ensure your own safety first: Never put yourself in danger to capture footage. Your safety is the highest priority.
- Assist others before filming: If you are the first responder or witness someone in immediate need, you must prioritize providing assistance. Filming must only begin after you have ensured that everyone who needs help is attended to, including following requests for assistance from emergency services or others at the scene. If emergency personnel request your assistance, stop filming immediately to comply.
- Do not obstruct emergency operations: Stay out of the way of first responders, law enforcement, or medical personnel, and avoid causing delays or confusion at the scene.
- Follow instructions from authorities: Always comply with directions given by law enforcement, medical teams, or other emergency responders. As a LiveTube reporter, you do not have special rights beyond those of the general public. If an official representative (e.g., police, fire services, or company representatives) instructs you to stop filming, you must comply immediately. Notify the producer in the newsroom about the situation and discuss possible next steps, such as whether re-joining the stream from a different location is feasible. For additional guidance, visit our Tips for LiveTubers
- Capture responsibly: Only film from a safe location, ensuring that your actions do not cause panic, confusion, or additional risk to those involved.
- Identify Yourself as a LiveTube Reporter: If someone asks who you are or why you are filming, politely inform them that you are reporting for LiveTube. You can also direct them to our newsroom for further clarification or questions. The newsroom team is available to handle inquiries and provide additional support if needed.
Authenticity in Filming
LiveTube depends on the authenticity of live broadcasts. Users are prohibited from:
- Misleading the newsroom or viewers: Deliberately showing footage out of context, selectively filming specific angles to mislead, or providing false information to producers about what is happening.
- Staging or fabricating events: Creating, provoking, or exaggerating situations for the purpose of livestreaming is strictly forbidden. This includes orchestrating emergencies, protests, or any other events to gain attention or mislead viewers.
- Hiding critical details: Intentionally withholding key information from the newsroom or omitting elements of a scene to create a false narrative.
- Manipulating public spaces or participants: Encouraging individuals to act in a certain way for the livestream or deliberately altering the environment to misrepresent the reality
- Falsely representing emergencies: Creating or exaggerating emergency situations just to report on them is not only unethical but also may lead to severe legal consequences.
- Using your position as a LiveTube reporter: Gaining unauthorized access to restricted areas or events is strictly prohibited.
Remember, your role as a LiveTube reporter is to present the truth as it happens, without interference or fabrication. The newsroom is always connected with you to ensure guidance and support for accurate reporting.
Exceptions in Situations of Great Public Interest
LiveTube recognizes its role in broadcasting critical events of public importance and interest. While our live broadcast rules and guidelines prioritize safety, privacy, and legality, we understand that certain situations may unintentionally result in actions that would otherwise be considered violations. In such cases, context matters, and the newsroom will review the circumstances before deciding how to proceed.
Examples of such exceptions include:
- Significant Public Interest: The content serves significant public interest, such as during large-scale protests or emergencies.
- Filming individuals during a rapidly unfolding emergency: If an unexpected event, such as an accident or natural disaster, is evolving, it may be unavoidable to capture people in the scene. However, your intent must be to report the event, not to exploit or harm individuals involved.
- Accidental appearance of restricted areas: If you unintentionally film in a location where filming is prohibited, such as private property, without prior knowledge of the restriction, this may be excusable if it was done in good faith.
- Unexpected inclusion of private individuals: In crowded public spaces or chaotic events, individuals may appear in your livestream by chance. This is acceptable as long as the focus remains on the event, not on those individuals.
LiveTube’s newsroom will assess such cases based on intent, context, and the public value of the content. If the livestream aligns with our mission of informing and educating, it may be permitted to continue.
We wish to emphasize that the decision to broadcast such content will only be made in exceptional cases where there is a broader public interest at stake, such as major incidents affecting many people or having significant societal implications. In such cases, we may choose at LiveTube’s discretion to broadcast such content.
When in doubt, contact your newsroom producer immediately for guidance.
