Three ways to follow
My Favorites
Pick the categories you care about, such as Breaking News, Arts or Events. They shape what you see in the app, and you get an alert when a livestream starts in one of them.
Topics
My LiveTubers
Follow the reporters you want to keep up with. When one of your favorite LiveTubers goes live, you get an alert. Adding a favorite turns its alert on automatically.

Upcoming LiveTubes
Some LiveTubes are scheduled in advance, single events or whole series. In the Watch tab, open Upcoming and tap the green check. You get an alert every time a stream starts.

One place for everything
My Alerts and the bell
Everything lives under the bell. Tap it to open your notification center and manage every alert in three groups:
- Favorites. The categories you chose.
- LiveTubers. The reporters you follow.
- LiveTubes. The scheduled events and series you subscribed to.
The settings wheel turns any favorite or alert on or off. You only ever get alerts for things you have chosen.
News around you
Close To Me
Want the news happening around you? Close To Me shows livestreams near your location. Set your radius from 5 to 100 miles with the slider in Settings and choose what you want to see in the Close To Me category.
It needs location access to work. See how we use your location.
You are in control
Alerts are opt-in, always. You pick what matters, and you only ever hear about the things you picked. For alerts to reach you, notifications must be enabled for LiveTube on your iPhone or Android. For Close To Me and location-based news requests, set location access to Allow Always.
Sometimes we call you
From the Newsroom
Sometimes our newsroom reaches out to you. We can send a direct message with a request or an offer, or a location-based alert to your area when news is breaking near you and we would like a livestream. These appear as a notification and in your alerts center under the bell.
We take privacy seriously: we do not track you. We can only send an alert to an area, or a direct message to you, and we have no way to follow a specific person's location. Read more about how we use your location.
For Reporters: Special Pay
When a story is worth more, we pay more. Special Pay offers appear on the GO LIVE screen for specific locations, and the newsroom can send you a private or location-based Special Pay offer when there is something to cover near you. See the Special Pay page for how it works.
Not receiving alerts?
- Check notifications. LiveTube must be allowed to send notifications in your phone settings.
- Check your favorites. No favorite, no alert: make sure you chose the category, LiveTuber or upcoming LiveTube you expect alerts from.
- Check location. For Close To Me and location alerts, set location access to Allow Always.
