Why only Live Works
When an event is over, almost any clip can be fabricated, mislabeled, or recycled. Live video, verified in the moment, is different. By capturing source-proof signals (on-scene photo + written description + device telemetry), fusing them with independent real-time data, and adding editorial judgment on a short safety delay, we can prove place, time, and context—while it’s happening. That’s the core of LiveTube.

With modern AI, anyone can manipulate reality to a near-indistinguishable degree. LiveTube is a different answer: unfiltered, real-time, and verified. Born from the insights of former broadcast journalist Sven Herold, LiveTube harnesses the power of smartphones and the need for authentic information so anyone—anywhere—can report live, with professional verification.
The core problem: truth loses when verification is slow
Traditional fact-checking happens after content spreads. It relies on manual source chasing, reverse image searches, and desk research—valuable, but too slow for breaking news. By the time a claim is verified, misinformation has often won the first mile. LiveTube replaces this “post-hoc” model with in-loop verification during the live moment itself.
The LiveTube Process (T0 → T+60s)
A deliberate ~30-second safety delay gives editors a window to verify, guide the reporter, and protect people on camera—without losing live speed.
T0 — Source-proof capture (phone → cloud).
A LiveTuber goes live. Alongside video, the app transmits locked first inputs—the on-scene photo and written description—plus continuous real-time telemetry for the entire stream: video/audio frames, precise GPS, device clock, and network/sensor diagnostics. To preserve chain-of-custody and prevent replays or injected recordings, we don’t allow external cameras/mics to feed into the app.
T+0–10s — Intake + low-latency stream.
The live feed and its metadata hit the newsroom within seconds, engineered for minimal end-to-end delay.
T+10–30s — Real-time AI checks (evidence fusion).
As frames arrive, AI analyzes video, audio, and speech, aligns them with the on-scene photo, description, and device signals, then cross-checks against independent live data (e.g., Air Traffic Control during an aviation incident; seismic networks during an earthquake; transit/sensor feeds; weather/light position; local alerts).
We also compare with what’s surfacing on other platforms in real time, and when multiple LiveTubers film the same scene, we correlate angles, timestamps, and audio fingerprints, and analyze both stills and live feeds. Because we’re connected live, producers can request a wide, 360° sweep, landmark pan, or a safety reposition—whatever locks the truth.
T+~30s — Human newsroom on a safety delay.
Producers see the stream with the system’s checks and can message the reporter (“Pan left to the street sign,” “Stay safe.”).
Decision — Accept / decline / route.
- Accept: If verified, newsworthy, and compliant with LiveTube Rules, the stream is published and/or routed to media partners—often with verified overlays added by the newsroom.
- Decline / limit: Producers can cut the stream or restrict routing (e.g., to emergency channels) if public broadcast isn’t appropriate.
During the stream, producers can add lower thirds, breaking tickers, and auto-inserted location/time; decide on social simulcast (YouTube, Facebook, X, Instagram, Telegram); and issue media alerts, a clean feed, 20-second clips, and recordings to partners. Additional producers can join for research, publishing, verification, and to alert nearby reporters via the interactive live map. Special-pay locations can be activated for high-value stories.
If someone tries to fake it: how we catch it in seconds
- TV/green-screen replays: Editors request a wide/360°/landmark pan; AI looks for refresh artifacts, moiré, reflections, lens-screen distance, and room acoustics that don’t match.
- Recycled/old footage: Live cross-checks with ATC, seismic networks, transit/sensors, local alerts, weather/light, map topology expose timing/environment mismatches fast.
- Location spoofing: We reconcile GPS with cell/Wi-Fi fingerprints, inertial movement, skyline/sun angle, and local audio signatures.
- Staged events: Multiple LiveTuber angles are correlated via geometry + audio fingerprints to confirm continuity.
- Voiceover/deep-dub: Spectral/sync analysis flags non-ambient narration or mismatched room tone.
- Human in the loop: Producers coach verification or cut instantly if standards fail.
Could a bad actor try to spoof a phone? In theory, yes—but a convincing fraud would require coordinated manipulation across multiple independent systems. Our real-time cross-references are designed to expose that.
Inside the LiveTube Newsroom (cloud + distributed producers)
LiveTube isn’t just a camera app; it’s a cloud newsroom with producers around the world. Once AI clears first checks, available producers get an alert. The first to accept becomes the Story Producer—guiding the LiveTuber, verifying on the safety delay, and adding context.
TZPs (Time Zone Producers)—our full-time shift leads—maintain 24/7 coverage, triage spikes, start war rooms for major events, and coordinate cross-zone hand-offs.
Compensation: Producers earn a base + per-minute while actively producing; dynamic offers can apply in high-demand situations. We track quality & safety metrics to reward great work.
Outcome: Not just crowdsourced footage—a crowdsourced newsroom turning eyewitness streams into evidence-backed broadcasts.
How a story moves through the newsroom
- AI pre-validation → dispatch to qualified producers (region, language, beat).
- Producer accepts → becomes Story Producer, gets live verification cues, messages the reporter.
- Verification & guidance on the safety delay; request angles/wides; apply Rules; add context.
- Escalation & teamwork: spin up a Story Room (translation, captions, mapping, second camera).
- Publish & distribute: on-air and/or licensed via MediaHub, with verified overlays.
The signals we combine (and why they matter)
- From the phone (source-proofing): live video, on-scene photo, written description, precise GPS, device/user ID, network/audio diagnostics.
- From the scene (content): landmarks, signage, weather cues, traffic, uniforms/insignia, ambient audio (sirens, crowd), speech-to-text keywords.
- From independent networks (live context): official alerts, municipal data, transport/sensor feeds, reputable local reports.
- Because these sources are independent and simultaneous, the system can catch inconsistencies (claimed location vs. skyline; time vs. lighting/schedule) and promote corroborated streams quickly.
When something’s off - Soft mismatch: editors request a new angle, street sign, or establishing shot.
- Hard mismatch / risk: the stream is cut, the reporter is notified, and routing is blocked or limited to the appropriate authorities.

How this differs from social live & classic fact-checks
- Social live: anyone can stream, but there’s no integrated, real-time verification and limited metadata for newsroom decisions. Verification is after-the-fact, if at all.
- Classic fact-checking: mostly manual and retrospective—useful, but too slow for live coverage.
- LiveTube: verification in the loop—evidence capture at source, AI fusion, editor judgment on a safety delay, and immediate accept/decline with controlled distribution.
