Dr Anji Sinha, an orthopaedic surgeon put forward as the next US Ambassador to Singapore, is set to appear before a Senate committee for his nomination hearing. The US State Department website says Dr Sinha suits the role because of his business expertise and appreciation of Singapore's role as a financial hub. Toni Waterman reports from Washington DC.
