Users are paid for selected streams, contributing to verified, authentic news coverage. To learn more about the platform, visit the About LiveTube page.
To get started, download the free LiveTube app from the App Store or Google Play Store, create an account, and press “Go Live” to start streaming. Producers will monitor your live stream and decide if it’s selected for broadcast. Yes, you can! If you’re testing your camera or microphone, choose the “Just checking it out” category in the app. This lets you test your equipment without connecting to a producer. Your screen will show “Connecting – Looking for a producer,” but the stream will automatically be declined by the newsroom system after a short period. This feature is helpful if you want to test your setup without submitting content for broadcast.

LiveTube prioritizes real-time reporting to ensure authenticity. All streams go through an initial verification process by our advanced AI system, followed by a review by a newsroom producer. A 30-second broadcast delay allows our team to moderate content and ensure it adheres to LiveTube’s rules. Producers can intervene to stop a broadcast if it violates our content guidelines or poses safety risks. For more on this process, visit How We Choose LiveTubes and read more on our approach in the About LiveTube section.

Earnings and Payments
LiveTube compensates reporters based on two factors:
– Base Payment: You receive a one-time base payment when your stream is selected for broadcast by our producers. This ensures that your efforts in capturing valuable content are acknowledged.
– Per Minute Payment: In addition to the base payment, you earn for every minute you’re broadcasting live. The longer your stream, the more you earn. Payment amounts are calculated in real-time, and your earnings are displayed in the app throughout your broadcast.
For more information, visit our Payments page.
Pay rates are dynamic and change based on factors like location, news demand, and breaking news situations. You can see the current pay rates directly in the LiveTube app when you press “Go Live.” These rates are constantly updated, so make sure to check them before you start streaming.
LiveTube offers higher pay rates for users in specific locations during significant news events. For example, if there’s a natural disaster, political protest, or emergency, reporters in the area will see higher pay rates in the app. These special offers reward users who are in the right place at the right time and are displayed in real time. Turn on your location settings to take advantage of these opportunities. Visit How We Use Your Location to find out more about privacy protection and settings.
You can regularly check the Go Live page for real-time pricing, special offers, and higher payments. Whenever we are looking for reporters covering a specific event, we will update the Go Live page immediately. We might also send out location-based push notifications to users who are close to the scene. For broader coverage, we also send alerts via email and global push notifications. To receive such alerts, make sure that notifications for the LiveTube app are turned on and that you have the location access of the app set to “Allow Always Location access.”
We take the privacy of our users seriously. For more information on how we use your location, please visit How We Use Your Location Information.

Note: In these cases, additional personal information may be requested to ensure compliance with legal and financial requirements.

Safety and Conduct
Safety is a top priority at LiveTube. You are always connected to a producer during your live stream, and they can intervene if there are any concerns. If at any point you feel unsafe, stop filming immediately and move to a safer location. Your producer can help guide you to ensure your well-being. If in doubt, follow our LiveTubers SafetyGuidelines.
When filming during an emergency, it’s crucial to follow these safety rules to ensure your safety and the safety of others:
– Keep your producer informed of any dangerous situations that arise, so they can make the correct decisions regarding your livestream
– Make sure you are safe at all times.Help others first before starting any livestream—your safety and others’ well-being come before filming.
– If emergency services are required, call them first before engaging with LiveTube.
– Always respect authorities and emergency services—do not interfere with their work.
– If you are required to assist in an emergency, stop filming and help.
– Keep your LiveTube producer informed of anything happening at the scene, such as if emergency services are needed.
– Do not block or obstruct emergency services from doing their job.
– Do not interfere with the work of emergency responders or other helpers.
– Avoid filming too closely in dangerous situations – maintain a safe distance.
– Follow the guidance of your producer throughout the broadcast.
If you find yourself in a dangerous or emergency situation, prioritize your safety. Stop filming and move to a safe place as soon as possible. Inform your producer that you’re stopping the stream for safety reasons. LiveTube monitors all streams and will intervene if they detect any potential threats to your safety.
– Be aware of your surroundings at all times. If you’re moving while filming, ensure the ground is stable and clear of obstacles.
– Don’t film from dangerous heights or unstable areas.
– Keep your valuables secure—live reporting can make you a target for theft.
– If people object to being filmed, respect their privacy and stop filming them.
– Inform someone (e.g., a friend) of your location if you are covering risky or crowded events.
For more tips on staying safe while filming, visit Tips for LiveTubers.

If you violate LiveTube’s rules, penalties may range from temporary suspensions to permanent account termination. Severe violations, such as filming illegal activities or violating privacy rights, can lead to your account being reported to authorities. Always ensure your content complies with our guidelines. You can find more information in our Rules.
We are aware of the role LiveTube plays in disseminating timely and accurate information of substantial public interest. Sometimes, this may mean featuring content that would normally be considered a violation of our guidelines. Such instances could include broadcasts involving significant events like large-scale protests or emergency situations that may involve confrontational or threatening elements.
We wish to emphasize that the decision to broadcast such content will only be made in exceptional cases where there is a broader public interest at stake, such as major incidents affecting many people or having significant societal implications. In such cases, we may choose at LiveTube’s discretion to broadcast such content. We believe this serves the greater good of informing and educating our audience. However, these cases will be carefully reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and the decision to allow or disallow will remain entirely at our discretion.
Technical Issues and Settings
If your stream shows “Connecting” for a prolonged period, this doesn’t mean it’s stuck. During this phase, we run content validation checks and verification processes to ensure your story is newsworthy. For example, we filter out irrelevant streams like personal footage (e.g., lying in bed, filming a garden, or a carpet). If your livestream passes the initial checks, the status will change to “Connected,” and you’ll be linked to a producer. If your stream doesn’t meet our guidelines, you’ll receive a decline message, and an email will be sent to you with further details.
All LiveTubes are filmed in 16:9 landscape format because this is the industry standard for professional news broadcasting. Filming in landscape provides the best viewer experience and is the most widely accepted format across all major broadcasters.
While there is an option to switch between cameras, you should generally only use the rear (back) camera for normal reporting. The front camera should only be used if explicitly requested by the newsroom producer. The goal is to focus on what’s happening around you, not on yourself.
No, you should not speak during the live stream. Focus solely on capturing the visuals. LiveTube is about showing the world what is happening in real-time, not about commentary. If needed, your producer may ask you to describe what you’re seeing, but this is rare. Descriptions, titles, categories, and tags are all handled by our newsroom team, who validate the news using external sources, AI systems, and content verification tools.
