The reporter goes live
A registered reporter starts a live stream from the scene. The app captures locked source proof at that moment: GPS location, device signals, and a separate high-quality on-scene photo. Title, description and hashtags are written and curated by LiveTube newsroom producers.
Verification runs in real time
The stream is buffered in our cloud newsroom. AI checks the video, audio, location and metadata against independent live sources, while a professional producer reviews the feed and stays connected to the reporter throughout.
The 30-second safety delay
A producer approves the stream before it airs. From publish, every feed runs 30 seconds behind the scene, and that window lets producers guide the reporter, add location and time graphics, and stop or switch the feed before anything reaches an audience. The delay is internal, so the feed still looks live to your viewers.
The clean feed reaches you
Once accepted, the broadcast-quality 1080p HLS feed is available in the LiveTube MediaHub with location, timestamp, reporter attribution and on-scene photo attached. Take it into your control room, or play it in your own website player.
Snippets and VOD follow
While the story runs, the newsroom cuts 20-second Live Snippets for your digital channels. When it ends, the full recording is ready to download.

How you get access
The LiveTube MediaHub is a restricted platform for verified broadcasters and publishers. There is no hardware to install.

- Complete the media registration form. Who you are, your organization, your role. About five minutes.
- Sign in to the LiveTube MediaHub from any browser once approved.
- Choose how you take the content: the clean HLS feed into your control room, your own website player, Live Snippets for social, or the full VOD.

- Issue your access details and open the platform to you.

Built for the moment, not for show
Stream quality is engineered around how breaking news actually happens: from a phone, on a mobile network, often where bandwidth is limited.
The stream steps down through 1080p, 720p and 360p and falls back to audio only rather than stopping. The reporter is never disconnected, and the moment the network recovers the full stream returns. Even in audio only the producer's connection stays fully active, because guidance text travels on the download band, not the reporter's constrained upload band. Duty of care
When a newsroom lifts eyewitness video from social media there is usually no duty-of-care control in the chain at all.

Help first is a hard rule
Reporters are told plainly: if you are the only person who can help someone in danger, help before you film. Filming human death is never permitted.
Unsafe pictures do not reach air
The built-in safety delay keeps unsafe or inappropriate pictures off air, and a stream can be declined or ended for safety reasons at any point.
Reporters are independent
They are eyewitnesses, not employees, and final responsibility for their own safety decisions stays with them, as set out in our Terms of Service. What LiveTube provides is the rules, the guidance and the live oversight above, built into how the platform runs.
Both tiers get the same content access and usage rights. Only the reach of your outlet differs.

Twelve months from the day you sign, not to a fixed calendar date. Sign in November 2026 and your Founders year runs to November 2027. The 31 December 2026 date is the deadline to join, not the end of your year.
Use on your own broadcast, your own website and your own social channels. The 20-second Live Snippets and the full VOD recording. A verified, rights-cleared feed with source proof attached. All of it is governed by the LiveTube Media License.
Standard pricing moves to minute packages: you buy a package of live minutes and draw it down across as many stories as you like, with no retainer and nothing spent on coverage you did not use. None of it is active yet, structures and prices are still being set and may change before launch, and Founders keep preferred conditions when it starts.
Because that is how we pay. Every reporter and producer receives a base payment plus a per-minute rate, and that rate rises sharply for huge news and for rare access, which is when we ask the most of them. Pricing by the minute keeps what you pay tied to what the coverage actually is, rather than to a fixed retainer you pay whether news happens or not.
Founders tiers include all live coverage under fair use, which is set out in the LiveTube Media License. It exists to stop one partner absorbing coverage intended for many. It is not there to ration your newsroom, and in normal use you will not meet it.

Local Web Player is a narrower licence for approved local and regional outlets in print or radio, and for outlets with no TV network. The live stream runs in your own website player only: no TV, no social, no rebroadcast. It is priced well below the Founders tiers, granted by application, and it can be revoked on misuse. Our newsroom marks a stream as Special when it is huge breaking news or rare, exclusive access, because we pay our reporters and producers significantly more for it. Special coverage carries a supplement and is licensed individually. You will always be told that a stream is Special, and what the supplement is, before you license it, never after. Nothing is ever charged after the fact.
Network and global-reach licensing is agreed directly with our sales team, outside the tiers above, as are the streams our newsroom marks as Special. Tell us the reach you need and we build the licence around it.
A standard licence covers your own broadcast, your own website and your own social channels. Supplying LiveTube content on to other newsrooms is something we do. It is set up as a separate syndication and resale agreement rather than added to a standard licence. Regional exclusivity and revenue share are both on the table, and every deal is agreed individually. Tell us who you supply and we will set it up.
Content is licensed non-exclusively unless we agree otherwise. Regional exclusivity can be granted, and redistribution partnerships with revenue share for specific regions are possible. The full terms are in the LiveTube Media License.
No. It arrives as a stream your gallery already knows how to take, with no chat, no social features and no overlays you did not ask for, so nothing new has to be learned before you can put it on air.
Yes. You take the HLS stream and play it in your own website player. There is no LiveTube player to place on your site and no API: we hand you the feed, your systems present it. That is also what the Local Web Player licence covers for outlets without a TV network.
Registration takes about five minutes and verification usually one to two business days. After that you sign in from any browser and can take whatever is live. There is no hardware to install and nothing to integrate before you start.
1080p is a deliberate ceiling, not a limit we ran into. Reporters stream from mobile networks on personal data plans, often in rural areas or at crowded events where upload is the constraint, so 4K is technically possible and impractical there. These are news events: a running livestream matters more than the sharpest picture, and the stream is built to stay up rather than to look its best. Every LiveTube stream is 16:9 landscape by default, so no side blurs are needed.
The stream adapts across 1080p, 720p and 360p, and falls back to audio only if it has to. At that point the producer will usually switch the audience to the neutral pausing stream and you can cut back to your own programme. The reporter is never disconnected, and the moment the network recovers the full stream returns.
